Neck Lift Surgery

It is often said that a person’s true age is revealed by their neck. Over time, the effects of aging manifest in the neck as skin loses its elasticity, becoming lax and sagging, accompanied by tissue ptosis and the accumulation of localized subcutaneous fat.

For a Youthful, Fresh, and Natural Aesthetic

Dr. Sarit Cohen, specialist in plastic surgery, performs neck lift procedures designed to tighten the skin and restore a smooth, refreshed, and youthful contour. Through meticulous preoperative planning and modern surgical techniques, optimal and personalized neck rejuvenation is achieved.

Who Is a Candidate for Neck Rejuvenation?

Neck rejuvenation encompasses both surgical interventions and minimally invasive techniques:

Mild Laxity & Dynamic Lines: When addressing fine surface wrinkles, dynamic neck bands, or minor skin laxity without significant skin excess, non-surgical options are highly effective. These include botulinum toxin (Botox) injections, advanced skin-firming technologies (such as radiofrequency and laser resurfacing), and specialized hyaluronic acid dermal fillers engineered to hydrate and restore a smooth, radiant finish to neck skin.

Moderate to Severe Laxity & Tissue Ptosis: When there is marked excess skin, drooping underlying tissues, or pronounced muscle banding (platysmal bands), surgical intervention provides the definitive solution. To maximize and preserve surgical outcomes, non-surgical modalities—such as Botox for dynamic muscle bands, skin-tightening technologies (RF, laser, IPL), and treatments for pigmented lesions—are often integrated into the long-term plan.

The Surgical Process

The optimal surgical technique is selected following a comprehensive anatomical assessment. Dr. Cohen evaluates skin elasticity, jawline and chin structure, floor-of-mouth anatomy, subcutaneous fat distribution, and the depth of platysmal bands and creases.

Localized Fat Accumulation: Targeted liposuction alone may suffice if skin elasticity remains high.

Platysmal Banding & Muscle Laxity: A submental micro-incision is utilized to perform a central corset platysmaplasty (hammock-style muscle tightening), often combined with lateral muscle suspension. Excess skin is then conservatively trimmed.

Combined Lower Face & Neck Ptosis: When tissue sagging extends beyond the neck to involve the lower face and jawline (jowls), a neck lift is seamlessly combined with a facelift (rhytidectomy).

Following surgery, patients wear a specialized supportive neck compression garment for approximately one week.

A neck lift delivers a refined, natural, and visibly rejuvenated appearance. Dr. Sarit Cohen invites you to explore the full spectrum of surgical and non-surgical treatments tailored precisely to your unique anatomical structure, aging pattern, and personal goals at her Tel Aviv clinic.
